Every month, The Journal will compile a suggested playlist from students and staff members. This month, you should listen to Clare Sobetski, Human Body Systems and AP Biology. She enjoys all types of music. When students walk into her classroom, they might be surprised at her playlist.
“I even listen to country music,” Sobetski said. She mostly listens to hip-hop but also enjoys alternative music. Here are a few slammers Sobetski recommends:
“Come Down” by Anderson Paak
Genre: Rap
Why this song: “I like this song because I think it has a good beat, and it makes me happy. It’s kind of like a funky song, and I really like Anderson Paak.”
“See You Again” by Tyler, The Creator
Genre: Rap
Why this song: “I really liked Tyler’s album this year, “Flower Boy,” and I think that song has a really good melody, and is fun to sing along to.”
“Coffee” by Sylvan Esso
Genre: Alternative/Indie
Why this song: “Because it kind of makes you want to dance; nice to groove to.”
“Sunday Candy” by Chance, the Rapper
Genre: R&B/Rap
Why this song: “An all-time great song and [it] encapsulates what’s so charming about Chance in particular.”
“Consideration” by Rihanna
Genre: R&B/pop
Why this song: “SZA wrote that song; I really like SZA, and I think that was probably the best song on “Anti.” And I also think that Rihanna is a queen.”
